"You see, there are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. Indeed that’s what we provide in our own modest, humble, insignificant… oh, fuck it." - The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Lighthouse - Patrick Watson
Dreaming of a lighthouse in the woods
Shining a little light to bring us back home
Or to help us get back into the world
The paper was fresh and clean, and the ink crisply black. Legible or not, the date at the top of the page sprang out at me as though written in letters of fire: 20 April, 1743.
And the real question is, do we live in a democracy or under the illusion of one?
Bad news like a sucker punch, blew me away
People fill the streets like nothing has changed
Clock hands think you’re lonely, nothing to say
Planes fly overhead like any old day
Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR LIVES EXTRAORDINARY. O CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN, REST IN PEACE.
